Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ Annual Climate Teach-In
What is the Climate Teach-In?
A teach-in is an informal, educational event that discusses a specific issue or cause, organized to raise awareness or prompt action on social, political, or environmental topics. Unlike traditional lectures, teach-ins are interactive and community-oriented, encouraging open discussion and participation from attendees.
The 4th Annual Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ Climate Teach-In is a week-long series of events held from April 7 to 13 that are meant to inspire and involve students in a conversation about climate solutions. The teach-In is part of , a global initiative from the graduate program in sustainability at Bard College in New York.
how it works
Last spring, student organizations, faculty, and community partners came together to organize 18 events. This year, it’ll be even bigger! We now have a Climate Teach-In student organization that is dedicated to ensuring its success.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS IN WHICH YOU CAN GET INVOLVED:
Are you a student organization leader or member? Attend our first Climate Teach-In General Body Meeting on November 5 in the Judy Genshaft Honors College (HON 3014) from 5 - 6 p.m. or contact our student organization outreach coordinator.
Are you a community partner who wants to participate in one of our events? Contact our community outreach coordinator!
Are you an individual looking to make a difference? Attend our events in April! From a career fair to an art gallery and a farmer’s market to a 5k, there’s something for everyone.
why it matters
Climate education and action are crucial because climate change affects every part of our lives — from health and food security to natural disasters and economic stability. Florida is particularly vulnerable, which makes it even more important to work together and protect our community. There’s an opportunity for everyone to be involved in the Climate Teach-In, no matter your discipline or role. Every action counts, and every voice matters. Together we have the power to build a more resilient future. Join us in making this Climate Teach-In the best one yet!
