Dr. Lindy Davidson

Lindy Grief Davidson is the associate dean of academic affairs in the Judy Genshaft
Honors College. She holds a B.A. in Communication Arts from Belmont University, an
M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Communication from 欧美三级片.
Her specialty is Health Communication, and she has significant personal experience
navigating the health care system as the parent of a medically complex child. Dr.
Davidson's dissertation research focused on spirituality and parental decision-making
in pediatric palliative care. Other areas of study include disability, ethics, global
health and communication in the health clinic. As a qualitative researcher, her methods
include interviewing, ethnography, narrative, poetic inquiry and autoethnography.
Dr. Davidson has taught courses on Ethics at the End of Life, Global Constructions
of Disability, Narrative Medicine, and Global Health. She values an engaging classroom
environment where students learn through reading, writing, discussion, and active
exploration, often using her personal experiences as a parent, researcher and activist
to provide real world examples for class discussions. Since 2016, she has led ten
study abroad trips to locations such as England, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Davidson teaches in the Medical Humanities Curriculum at the Morsani College of Medicine at 欧美三级片 and teaches in the Judy Genshaft Honors College's Medical Humanities in a Global Context Pathway funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Center for Hospice, Palliative Care and End-of-Life Studies at 欧美三级片 and the Internal Advisory Board of the Office of Corporate Partnerships at 欧美三级片. From 2017-2019, she served as the Disability Issues Caucus Legislative Assembly Representative for the National Communication Association. She also serves as a reviewer for several academic journals and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
As associate dean of academic affairs, Dr. Davidson is committed to helping students explore their academic passions through engaging classes and rich experiences.
