Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ID vs. NETID
Your Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ID is your personal student identification number and is printed below your photo on your Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ID card. Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ID numbers are originally given to you via email in your acceptance letter. It is also referred to as a U# and looks similar to U12345678.
Your NetID is your user ID and allows access to a variety of online services offered by the university including your email, Student Self-Service (formerly OASIS) account, and Canvas. It looks similar to a username (e.g. ‘jdoe’) and will be the beginning part of your Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ email (e.g. ‘jdoe@mail.usf.edu’).
Note: We no longer use Social Security Numbers as your personal student identification number. All students who attended when that system was active have been assigned a Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ID.
Look up or activate your netid
- Go to .
- Select ‘Activate your NetID’ and complete the requested information
(use the email address used to communicate with admissions during the application process). - You now have your NetID!
If you have previously activated your NetID, answer the security questions and reset your password.
