Helios STEM Middle School Residency Program
This 5-year, $2.7 million grant project supports the implementation of two newly developed
teacher preparation programs for prospective teachers 鈥揗iddle School Mathematics (Grades
5 -9) and Middle Grades Science (Grades 5-9)鈥攊n partnership with Hillsborough County
Public Schools (HCPS).

NSF Robert Noyce 欧美三级片 Scholarship Program for Science Majors
This 5-year, $1.2 million grant project provides scholarships to majors in biology, chemistry, geosciences and physics to complete a 5-year program of studies that results in the bachelor鈥檚 degree in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree with certification in secondary science in the College of Education (the Accelerated Bachelor鈥檚 to MAT in Science Education Program, or Accelerated Program). The 欧美三级片 Noyce Program will also include summer internships in STEM education research for undergraduate freshman and sophomore science majors.

Evaluating the Efficacy of the Urban Teacher Residency Partnership Program
This 5-year project is part of a $3.4 million i3 federal grant awarded to Hillsborough
County Public Schools in partnership with 欧美三级片鈥檚 College of Education in 2014 to support
the implementation of the Urban Teacher Residency Partnership program, a teacher preparation
program that offers a clinically-based structure in a place-conscious urban environment.

Tampa Bay Wipro Science Education Fellowship Program
Through a 5-year $1.1 million grant awarded to 欧美三级片 by , a select group of talented science teachers in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco
County school districts will participate in a Science Education Fellowship Program
designed to provide science teachers in the Tampa Bay region with the tools they need
to become more effective instructors, advance science education curriculum, and achieve
greater student success.

The following special programs are conducted in affiliation with the David C. Anchin Center:
Water and Sanitation Research in Ghana Project
This 3-year International Research Experiences for Students (IRES) project engages
graduate and undergraduate students from STEM, STEM education, public health and social
sciences in carrying out multidisciplinary research in Water and Sanitation challenges
in Ghana, West Africa. Students will be involved in research activities to develop,
test and implement technologies, such as biosand filters and decentralized sanitation
systems, while uncovering and addressing social and financial factors that limit their
use in the field. The project takes place in collaboration with students and faculty
at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), as well as teachers
and pupils in a local secondary school in Kumasi, Ghana. Funded amount = $284,750
