The milestone comes during Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬â€™s first full fiscal year as a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and helps demonstrate its impact as one of the nation’s most research-intensive institutions. The new record brings the university closer to reaching its goal of securing $1 billion in annual research funding.

NASA’s permanent presence on the moon could begin with Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬-invented mapping technology
As NASA continues exploring the moon’s southern polar region to find ice, Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ engineers are developing technology to make landing on the moon safer and less expensive – enabling rapid exploration and eventually the establishment of an outpost for astronauts through the availability of safe drinking water and the ability to create oxygen and rocket fuel.

Brain injuries in U.S. Special Operations Forces aren’t easy to detect, Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ helping develop a solution
Through its partnership with U.S. Special Operations Command, the Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ Institute of Applied Engineering has co-led an illuminating study that found repeated exposure to low-level blasts is associated with signs of brain injury in Special Operations Forces. Such exposure is common throughout many military careers, including in training and operational environments.
