National Residence Hall Honorary

History

In 1964, the inaugural year of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) rooted its work in recognition initiatives to honor the accomplishments of residential student leaders. Between 1977 and 1987, NRHH grew as pins and certificates were established to honor members of NRHH. Different regional and national awards were established, included Program, National Communications Coordinator, Advisor, Student, and Resident Assistant Of The Month.

Today, over 170 chapters are affiliated with the NRHH National Office. Activities of the chapters vary from campus to campus. Some simply induct new members at an annual ceremony each year. Others are quite active on their campuses and in their communities. They coordinate leadership retreats, conferences, socials, and service-learning opportunities. They make campus home.

History of NRHH Green and Gold Chapter

The Green and Gold Chapter at the University of South Florida (Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬) – Tampa was established in the Spring of 1999 by Resident Director Jeff Cooper and Area Coordinator James Brock. The inaugural class included 13 of the possible 27 members.

This class established the structure and purpose of the organization. Since then, more than 300 members have been inducted. NRHH members serve as the primary recognition and service-learning coordinators for the residential community.
