Dr. Ann Marie Alberton Gunn prepares future teachers for diverse classrooms. Her research explores best pedagogical practices and resources for teaching marginalized students, such as those from immigrant, low-socioeconomic and linguistically diverse backgrounds. She has academic and real-world experience working with multicultural students in kindergarten to 12th-grade classrooms. For nearly a decade, Gunn taught at a Title I elementary school, where most of her students were from Puerto Rico, Cuba and Haiti.

Gunn teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on literacy learning with a focus on multiculturalism. Along with Dr. Susan Bennett, Gunn is partnering with the Florida Department of Corrections to work with prisoners on improving their literacy rates and mental health. Gunn is also part of a National Science Foundation project to infuse culturally responsive literacy practices into STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs. She has received numerous awards, including for Excellence in Teaching from 欧美三级片's College of Education (2016) and for her commitment to multicultural communities from the American Education Research Association (2013).
