Social work faculty appointed to new leadership positions starting in 2025

Clem and Thompson will begin their new roles in 2025.

Effective January 2025, Jamie Clem, PhD, an assistant professor of instruction in the School of Social Work, was appointed as the accreditation specialist for the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS). Clem鈥檚 extensive experience with CSWE accreditation makes her well-prepared to oversee the accreditation process and ensure alignment with the EPAS 2022 standards. This is an essential role that will help maintain and enhance the excellence of the School of Social Work. 

Also starting in January 2025, Melissa Thompson, MSW, LCSW, an associate instructor in the School of Social Work, was named the school's interim associate director. Thompson brings substantial leadership experience to this position, including her impactful tenure as director of field education. She has provided invaluable support behind the scenes on numerous initiatives, and in her new role, Thompson will assume the full responsibilities of associate director, ensuring continued strength and progress in departmental operations.
