Congratulations to CRMHC students Callie Hill, Jessica Klein and Kevin Spath on being People’s Choice winners of the Annual Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ Graduate Student Research Symposium.
The research symposium, hosted by the Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ Office of Graduate Studies and the Graduate and Professional Student Council, brings together graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, as well as faculty mentors and judges in an effort to foster further academic collaboration.
The CRMHC students won in the Social & Behavioral Sciences (including Education) category. Under the direction of their major professor Dr. Chih Chin-Chou, their research, The Development of Interpersonal Skills through Narratives and Technology (DISTNT) Program for High-Performing, Transition-Age Youth with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder, involved the development of a web-based transitional social skills intervention aimed at enhancing participants’ theory of mind, technology-related career interest, and perceived social self-efficacy. Overall, the pilot case study demonstrated the usability of the program with preliminary positive outcomes.
The award provides travel funds to present their research at a meeting of their choice. The students will also be recognized at the Student Research Awards Luncheon on April 25, 2022.
