James Suggs has served on Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬'s faculty since 2018. His responsibilities at Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ include conducting the Jazz Ensemble II, teaching jazz combos, and teaching jazz trumpet lessons.  
 
Suggs earned a Master of Music in Jazz Performance at Å·ÃÀÈý¼¶Æ¬ Tampa, and Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance at Youngtown State University in Ohio. 
 
Suggs is an active performer and recording artist in both local and national scenes. His debut album â€Ô¨´Ç³Ü’r±ð&²Ô²ú²õ±è;³Ò´Ç²Ô²Ô²¹&²Ô²ú²õ±è;±á±ð²¹°ù&²Ô²ú²õ±è;¹ó°ù´Ç³¾&²Ô²ú²õ±è;²Ñ±ð", was released in 2019. Recorded in the legendary Van Gelder Studio with an all star band and producer, it reached #16 on the national jazz chart, and has been heard across the world on the radio, and in various airlines’ playlists. Suggs has performed at many reputable jazz festivals, including Newport Beach, Sarasota, Clearwater, and in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he lived, taught, and performed for 8 years. 
 
Suggs has performed in cities across the world including London, Barcelona, Lisbon, New York, Boston, Mexico City, and Caracas. He has performed on 6 cruise ships, toured with The Glenn Miller Orchestra and The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and has been invited to perform the National Anthem twice at the Tampa Bay Rays Tropicana Stadium.
