Ferdinand Zogbaum is an assistant instructor, concentration head and internship director for broadcast news in the Zimmerman School at the University of South Florida. He is a veteran journalist who spent his career reporting in top media markets for Bay News 9 and Spectrum News 13. He also covered stories for CNN and The Weather Channel and partnered with the Tampa Bay Times and Citrus County Chronicle. Ferdinand鈥檚 reporting includes local, national and international news as well as sports and politics. He teaches courses like broadcast news, media writing and tv news. He has a strong professional network with deep ties in the Bay Area community and beyond.
Zogbaum grew up in Rhode Island and graduated from the University of Rhode Island. He earned his master鈥檚 degree from the University of Miami. Before a career in journalism, he lived and worked in Mexico, the Caribbean and South America. His list of adventures includes creating an ecotourism business, teaching scuba diving and working for the U.S. Commercial Attach茅 in Lima, Peru.
He is a member of several Zimmerman School committees and works closely with the community to build relationships to benefit students. One of those relationships is a media partnership with the Tampa division of the FBI.
