BIOGRAPHY
Jessica Montalvo is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Communication at the University of South Florida. She draws from relational communication, disability studies, and auto/ethnography to examine how mothers attune to their children with disabilities. Her background in anthropology and communication guide an interdisciplinary approach that centers cultural processes and reflexive practices in the construction of dis/abled, raced, and gendered identities.
